Legionella control is a serious and yet widely under-researched subject in the water management industry. But with federal organisations such as CDC warning that cases of severe infection associated with the bug are on the rise, there is an increasing need for more information on the topic.

To better understand gaps in knowledge in the industry and to identify the actions needed to support better water system safety in the future, Hydrosense conducted research with industry professionals worldwide.

Key findings from the survey, suggest that:

• There is a need for more educational content around Legionella amongst duty holders.
• Regulatory bodies must do more to protect businesses and the general public from Legionella risks.
